By late August the big bluestem out on Grigsby Prairie stands over head height and the whole west edge of Barrington has gone gold. A kept lawn reads differently against that — greener, tighter, plainly deliberate. Spring and fall the cleanups get added to the route, hauling out whatever winter left and whatever October drops. Friday afternoon, with a street of finished yards behind the trailer, is a good way to end a week.
