About Putnam Tree Service

Athens is a tidy grid of streets on the prairie north of Springfield, close enough to the Sangamon bottoms that the timber along the creeks is real timber. Putnam Tree Service works both ends of that — the shade trees on town lots off the main street and the heavier growth out at the field edges. Pruning gets done in the bare months, when a crown is legible and the ground is firm underfoot; trimming keeps limbs clear of gutters, garages and the lines that follow the alleys. Removal is for the hollow, the dead and the leaners, done in a way that leaves the yard around it untouched. Central Illinois storms are not shy, and when one goes through in the night, clearing it quickly is the service and a swept driveway is the proof.
