About Grassworks LLC

Spring reaches Anna early and all at once — redbud and dogwood lighting the hillsides at the edge of the Shawnee before the rest of Illinois has finished thawing. Grassworks LLC starts mowing then and hardly stops, working Union County yards that rarely sit flat: slopes to cut across, terraced banks, shade pooling under old hardwoods. Trimming and edging do the fine work a mower cannot reach, around stone, around fence posts, around the roots that push up through southern Illinois ground. Autumn means cleanup, when the ridge timber turns and drops half of itself into town. Green, cut and squared away — that is the whole ambition, and it is a good one.
