Envisioning Green

About Envisioning Green

When a squall comes up the valley, the white cables of the Clark Bridge disappear one by one and Alton goes quiet underneath it. Envisioning Green works through those hours — plowing drives, opening lots, cutting a walkable path to a door while the sky is still emptying itself out. There is a particular pleasure in a driveway scraped to bare pavement at first light, with everything around it still blank. Salt at the entrances, banks set back where they will not slump into the lane, the mailbox left reachable. Snow removal for Alton and the surrounding river towns.
