Roots Landscape

About Roots Landscape

Dig anywhere in this valley and sooner or later you strike basalt — old lava, patient and unbothered, a few inches under the topsoil the river left behind. Roots Landscape builds yards on top of that: beds shaped and planted, lawns put in and then kept mowed, trimmed and edged while they fill. Anything that lasts here has to push its roots through hard ground and hold on, and choosing for that is half the design. The other half is how it all looks from the porch on a warm evening with the light going. Green comes slowly in this country and stays a long while when it is done right.
