Come April the ground east of town finally gives, and the whole valley goes to work at once. Kimberly Nurseries Landscape & Irrigation plants, shapes and waters yards across Twin Falls — beds set out, lawns established, sprinkler lines laid and tuned until every zone reaches the corner it is meant to reach. The road running out toward Kimberly is orchard and field and open sky, and a yard here has to stand up to that same wind and that same sun. Getting water where it belongs is most of the craft; the rest is choosing plants that actually want to live in this soil. By June the beds have filled in and the grass has closed over, and the place looks like it was always meant to be that way.
