About Higley’s Lawn Care
By the middle of October the irrigation water is shut off, the cottonwoods along the laterals turn yellow all at once, and the west end of the valley toward Filer starts letting go of its leaves. That's the loud stretch of the year for Higley's Lawn Care: leaf removal, a final cut taken low, beds cleared out, and aeration to open the ground before it goes cold and hard. Aerated turf takes a Magic Valley winter better and comes back sooner in spring, which is the whole argument for doing that work in the chill. Through the growing months the pace is steadier — mowing, trimming, edging, keeping a lawn even week to week. But there's something particularly good about the last pass of the season, when a yard goes into the cold looking looked-after.
