About Pioneer Excavating LLC

Before the fog lifts off the confluence where the St. Joe meets the St. Maries, Pioneer Excavating LLC is already out with the loader, cutting a path down toward the mill yard while the whistle still waits for its hour. This is river-bottom country, and the cold settles low here, thick and white, so the plow blade has to find the curb by feel some mornings. The crew works driveways up toward the timbered ridges and back down along the flats, pushing berms clean off the shoulders before the school buses start their rounds. There's a particular satisfaction in a Saint Maries winter morning when the streets are black pavement again and the rivers are still smoking with cold under a lid of fog. Pioneer Excavating handles the driveways, lots, and access roads that keep this timber town moving through the deep months.
