Ridgeline Excavation & Mulching runs its winter route with the same machines it uses to cut a hillside pad in summer — blade angled to the grade, working uphill in low gear where a flatland plow truck would just spin out. The mountain holds its own weather too: snow that melts off the prairie floor by afternoon can still be sitting heavy on a driveway partway up the mountain's shoulder. Down below, where the streets go flat and straight again toward the rest of Rathdrum, the same crew clears those properties the ordinary way. It's two different kinds of winter within the same few miles, and this route covers both.
