New houses keep going up on the eastern side of Priest River, on lots carved out of second-growth timber where the ground starts climbing toward the Cabinet Mountains, and getting a truck up to one of those sites in January is its own kind of job. Integrity Construction Idaho runs winter access for exactly those properties — driveways still rough-graded, culverts not yet set in place, snow drifting into the cuts between the trees before a homeowner's even moved in. The crew treats each one like the build site it still partly is: clearing enough to keep a delivery truck or a contractor's rig moving, not just enough for a passenger car. Once a place is finished and lived-in, the same driveway gets plowed the ordinary way, blade down, start to finish. It's a route that follows where the town is still being built, out toward those eastern foothills.
