Aussie Lawns

About Aussie Lawns

West of the pines the Rathdrum Prairie opens flat and generous, and the lawns out there get sky from every direction and wind besides. Aussie Lawns starts in that wide light, when the sprinklers are still throwing and the grass gives up its cool as the mower passes. Mowing, edging, trimming, weed control and seasonal cleanups are the trade, tuned to a place where summer runs dry and irrigation does much of the arguing. A prairie yard can go gold in a hurry if nobody's watching the height of the cut, so the deck comes up in July and the stripes run long and straight. Late in the afternoon the wind picks up over the fields, and the finished lawns hold their shape anyway.
