About Nalder's Enterprises

Pocatello grew up around the Union Pacific yard, and the old depot district still carries that history in its brick facades and wide loading aprons, ground that has needed clearing every winter since the rail yard's earliest days. Nalder's Enterprises works that same historic core now, clearing sidewalks and small lots around the depot and the surrounding blocks so the district's shops and offices open on schedule after an overnight system. A freight whistle still echoes through there some mornings while the crew finishes a stretch of sidewalk, a reminder of what the district was built to serve before it became mostly storefronts and offices. Clearing that ground means working around loading docks and narrow alleys laid out for railcars rather than trucks, tight spaces that call for a shovel and a small blower more than a plow. It is old ground doing new work, and keeping it walkable in January is its own small piece of the Gate City's daily upkeep.
