Moonlight Plow, LLC earns its name honestly, working the streets of Payette in the hours before dawn when moonlight off the Snake River is still doing most of the lighting. Payette sits where the Payette River meets the Snake, and winter fog off both channels can leave a skin of ice on Main Street before anyone's awake to see it form. The work is driveway and street-front snow removal, done downtown and through the residential blocks alike, so Payette wakes up to bare pavement instead of a frozen crust. Running a plow past the river bridge at four in the morning with nobody else on the road has an odd kind of peace to it, headlights and moonlight doing the same job for a while. By sunrise over the valley, the hard part of the work is already finished and put away.
