The Yard Butler

About The Yard Butler

From the farm bench around Newdale, the Tetons stand on the eastern skyline like a row of white teeth, and in January the wind crosses the open fields with nothing to slow it down. Snow out here does not just fall; it travels, drifting across lanes and packing hard against garage doors. The Yard Butler takes on Newdale's snow, plowing out driveways and shoveling walks ahead of the first chores. There is a butler's kind of pride in the work: arrive early, leave everything in order, and let the household find the path ready. In this potato and grain country, an open driveway at sunrise is a quiet sort of luxury.
