About Hawks Tree Services

Mountain Home is a green square set down in sagebrush country, and every tree in it stands because someone watered it and meant it. Hawks Tree Services looks after that borrowed shade — trimming the fast poplars and elms that fill in quickly and fail just as quickly, pruning out deadwood, removing what the desert has finished with. Wind is the constant, coming off the Snake River plain with nothing to slow it, and a crown that has never been thinned catches it like a sail. After a summer storm blows through toward the Danskin foothills and leaves limbs on lawns and fence lines, the crew cuts and hauls until there is nothing left on the grass. Evening light on the Bennett Hills, a yard put back in order — that is a day worth having.
