About Me And My Truck

Potlatch was laid out street by street more than a century ago, and there's something fitting about clearing it one truck at a time. Me And My Truck runs a plow route through that same tidy grid the mill company platted — down past the old depot, along streets still named for the lumbermen who built them, driveway by driveway before the town wakes up. The cold comes hard once the ridges to the north are loaded with snow, and one truck working methodically beats one trying to cover the whole grid at once. There's a rhythm to it: engine idling white in the cold air, headlights catching the next driveway, the plow blade finding the same curb line it found the morning before. The sun clears the hills east of town, and the grid stands open corner to corner, ready before anyone's out the door.
