South Florida Cuts

About South Florida Cuts

The name came from somewhere else. The work happens here, in the dry heat between the Boise River and the open farm ground west of town. South Florida Cuts mows Middleton yards in the long evening light after the west wind lays down, when the sprinklers tick on and a whole street smells like cut grass and wet concrete. Stripes run straight, edges get trimmed back to the line, and the walks get cleared before anyone comes home. By August, with the fields turned dusty gold and the valley shimmering all afternoon, a green lawn on a Middleton street is a thing worth keeping — so it gets kept.
