Snow Buddies of Boise

About Snow Buddies of Boise

Down on the valley floor in Meridian, snow rarely piles up the way it does in the high country north of here — it drifts in thin, melts fast, and still manages to catch most of the Treasure Valley by surprise. Snow Buddies of Boise works the driveways and parking areas across Meridian's subdivisions and shopping strips in that in-between window, when the ground is just slick enough to matter and just lightly covered that everyone assumes someone else will handle it. The valley's flat horizon makes for long views on a clear winter morning, old orchard ground giving way to rooftops in every direction, all of it briefly white before the sun takes it back. It's modest snow by mountain standards, but it still needs clearing, and getting a lot bare again before the shops open counts as its own small win.
