Valley Sweeping

About Valley Sweeping

Up on the bench above downtown Lewiston, the Orchards still carry the shape of the fruit ground they were platted from, wide lots and long straight streets that catch the weather differently than the river valley below. Valley Sweeping works that higher, colder ground, clearing driveways and lots where snow lingers well past the point it's melted off along the Snake and Clearwater. A foot of white can sit up on the bench while the valley floor is already down to wet pavement, so knowing which streets need a second pass matters as much as the first plow. Most of it gets done before the school buses start their climb out of town, leaving a clean, dark run of asphalt against the frost still holding in the old orchard rows nearby.
