State Street runs straight out of Boise into Eagle, and the yards along it face north toward the foothills, close enough that on a clear winter evening you can watch a storm line up over the ridge before it ever reaches town. Eagle Landscape works those driveways in the last light of the day as much as the first, since a lot of Eagle's storms arrive during the evening commute rather than overnight, catching a driveway just as its owner is trying to pull in after work. Clearing a foothill-facing yard means dealing with a slope that catches wind coming down off the ridge, packing drifts against the north side of a house that the south side never sees at all. A quick pass in the early evening, before the temperature drops hard after sunset, keeps a driveway from turning into an ice rink by the time anyone actually needs to use it. Getting home to a clear drive instead of an evening spent shoveling by headlights is the whole reason this route runs when it does.
