Driggs sits on the floor of Teton Valley with the range itself rising close along the eastern edge of town, and on a clear winter morning the peaks catch the first light a good half hour before it reaches the valley floor below. Golden Eagle Lawn & Garden Care works driveways and farmyards out across that flat ground, where barley and seed-potato fields lie under snow all winter and the wind has nothing to slow it down before it hits a farmhouse lane. A storm here often comes with real cold behind it, cold enough that packed snow on a driveway doesn't soften again for weeks, so getting it cleared down to gravel or blacktop the same day it falls matters more than it might somewhere milder. Roofs get watched too, since a valley this high stacks up snow load fast enough to worry a barn roof by midwinter. There's something to standing in a cleared driveway at sunrise with the Tetons lit up pink overhead and the whole flat white valley still quiet around you.
