Lawn Co spends the summer on Treasure Valley lawns and, come winter, on the driveways and walks in front of them, working through the particular kind of morning where the foothills above Boise show white against a valley floor still locked in gray inversion fog. The crew treats a snow day with the same route logic as a mowing day, same properties, same order, same attention to the edge along the sidewalk, just with a plow blade instead of a mower deck. Down in the flatter neighborhoods the fog can sit until nearly noon, hiding a clear driveway from view even after it's done, while up toward the Bench and the foothills the sun breaks through hours earlier. By midmorning the fog usually starts to lift off downtown, and this crew is often two-thirds through its route before the rest of the valley can even see clearly. It's steady, familiar work, following the same streets it knows from summer, only under a colder, grayer sky.
