For one week every September the whole valley points itself at the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds, and Blackfoot gets busy in a way it is busy no other time of year. GLN Lawncare works right through it, keeping lawns cut and edged while company is in town and everyone's front yard is suddenly on display. September is a generous month for grass here — cool nights, warm afternoons, the low angle of light that makes a fresh cut look like velvet. As the fair packs up, the work turns toward feeding the lawn and clearing the first leaves before they smother it. There is real satisfaction in handing back a yard that looks ready for whoever pulls into the driveway.
