DC & Family Services works the newer residential streets on the edge of Bellevue, the kind of short cul-de-sacs and driveways that fill in behind the old mining-era core as the valley's population has spread south from Hailey and Ketchum toward this end of the valley. Kids still walk these streets to the bus stop most winter mornings, and the crew times its route to have walks and corner crossings clear before that first pickup. Snow here tends to come heavier and wetter than up-valley, closer to what falls on Hailey than what piles up dry around Sun Valley's higher elevations, and it packs down fast on a driveway if it sits even half a day. The crew works one loop of streets at a time, driveway apron to driveway apron, rather than covering the whole town in a single long pass, so no single block waits too long once the plow trucks are out. The school bus makes its own loop through the neighborhood not long after, and the driveways along its route are already down to bare pavement by then.
