South and west of town, the ground opens into the flat farmland known locally as the Bellevue Triangle, open enough that a hard wind down-valley can pick up loose snow off one field and lay it back down as a drift across the next farm road entirely. Blizzard Snow Removal runs its routes out across that flat first on the wildest mornings, because open ground redrifts fast and a driveway cleared at dawn can need a second pass by ten. Sagebrush and old fence line mark the edges of fields that run cattle and hay come summer and lie bare and white the rest of the year, with nothing much to break the wind between here and the foothills. The crew works the farm approaches and long straight driveways of the Triangle first, then circles back in toward town once the open ground has settled down for the day. It's a stretch of valley that takes the weather harder than the streets closer to the river, and the route is built around that difference every single storm.
