About L & G Inc.

Corn and soybeans run right up to the edges of Whittemore, and the town keeps time by them. L & G Inc. keeps time by them too, mowing and tidying lawns while the fields go from bare green rows to full tassel, then finishing a last fall cleanup as combines throw harvest dust into the October air. After the grain is in, the work turns to snow, keeping lanes and steps open through the months when the fields lie flat and white. Come April, when the ground softens and the first robins work the yards, the mowers come back out. Two kinds of work, a single town, and a year that turns as steadily as the crop rotation outside the window.
