Speck USA

About Speck USA

Long before the office parks and shopping centers, West Des Moines was Valley Junction, a railroad town, and the old brick storefronts along Fifth Street still keep that history. When a winter storm buries the city, Speck USA sets about digging it out, plowing and clearing snow so the morning rush can roll. There's a stillness to those hours: snow glowing orange under the streetlights, the blade drawing one long stroke down the drive. Once the city stirs, the pavement is black again and the banks are pushed well back from the walk.
