About Red Buffalo Tree Services

West Branch keeps its brick streets close to the Hoover birthplace site, and in a hard winter the wind off the restored prairie there doesn't care how historic the block is — it drifts snow across the same lanes Herbert Hoover once walked to school. Red Buffalo Tree Services runs those residential blocks early, clearing driveways and front walks before the library and the visitor center open for the day. The prairie edge on the east side of town holds its drifts longer than the rest of West Branch, so those driveways get a second look once the wind has had all night to work. Salt gets laid at the porch steps and the low spots that ice up first and stay that way. There's something fitting about clearing a path in a town this old-fashioned — necessary work, done quietly, before anyone else is up to notice it.
