Bauler Construction

About Bauler Construction

Ice locks the millpond on the Maunesha, and Waterloo goes quiet in the particular way January has. Bauler Construction works the hours before that quiet breaks — plow down, headlights on the drifted end of a driveway, a clean rectangle of pavement where an hour before there was none. Snow here comes sideways off the fields and packs hard against garage doors, so the work is as much about the second pass as the first: shoulders squared back, the walk shoveled to its full edges, salt laid down before meltwater can turn to glaze. Every drive on the route gets opened before the first car needs it. When the sun finally climbs over the river, the streets are already somebody's ordinary Tuesday.
