Bill & Lonnie's Lawn Care

About Bill & Lonnie's Lawn Care

Washington keeps its heart in the middle: a square of park at the center of town, brick storefronts facing it on all four sides, shade pooling under the trees by late afternoon. Bill & Lonnie's Lawn Care works the blocks that spoke out from there, mowing, string trimming and edging along streets where the porches sit close to the sidewalk. There is a particular satisfaction in the last pass of a mow, when the rows line up and the grass at the walk's edge stands at attention. Yard cleanup takes care of the rest, clippings gathered and the drive swept before the truck moves on. Come evening the whole block smells like cut grass, and that is exactly the point.
