Kingdom Tree Service

About Kingdom Tree Service

Urbandale grew up under silver maples, and on the long streets west of Merle Hay the canopy still closes overhead like a green ceiling by the Fourth of July. Kingdom Tree Service works in that shade — removals when a trunk has gone hollow, trimming that lifts limbs clear of a roofline, pruning cuts made where the branch collar says to make them. Iowa storms come in from the west with the sky turning the color of a nickel, and by morning there are limbs across driveways and a whole neighborhood listening for saws. That is the work: clearing what the wind left, chipping the brush, raking the sawdust off the grass until a yard looks like nothing happened. Out past the Living History Farms the prairie still runs to the horizon, and every tree in this town is one somebody planted on purpose — worth tending like it.
