About A Better Lawn & Snow LLC

Morningside wakes up slow on a snow morning — the old college neighborhood's narrow streets and sidewalks under a canopy of mature trees holding onto the last of the night's cold long after the bluffs to the west have caught the first light. A Better Lawn & Snow LLC works those streets early, clearing driveways and front walks block by block before Morningside's students and neighbors head out for the day. The snow here tends to fall soft and even, without the drifting that hits the open bluff-top yards across town, which makes a clean, square-edged walk easy to get right and satisfying to look back on. Salt goes down along the steps and the shaded north sides of houses where the sun won't reach the ice until well past noon. By the time the neighborhood is fully awake, the walks are bare and the driveways open straight to the street, a sign, block by block, that the neighborhood is ready for the day.
