A1 Lawn Care By Cory Derby

About A1 Lawn Care By Cory Derby

The white shaft above Sergeant Floyd's grave takes the first light of the day while the streets below are still blue. By the time the sun reaches the yards, A1 Lawn Care By Cory Derby is already working — grass brought down to an even height, the string trimmer run in close around posts and foundations, the walk edged so the line reads sharp from the curb. Sioux City grass comes on fast off the river bottom in May and keeps at it until the maples let go, so the mowing follows a steady rhythm and the leaf work follows the trees. Clippings get cleared off the walk and drive before the truck pulls away, because half of a finished lawn is what you don't leave behind. It is plain outdoor work done properly, one yard at a time, in a town that has always kept one eye on the weather.
