Winborn Outdoor Services

About Winborn Outdoor Services

The rail line still cuts straight through Sanborn, and the grain elevators beside it are the only real break in a horizon that otherwise runs flat clear to the edge of sight. Winborn Outdoor Services starts along that line, clearing the streets nearest the elevators before the first grain trucks need to move for the day. Wind off the open O'Brien County fields doesn't need much snow to build a drift across a driveway overnight, and the crew reads those wind lines the way a sailor reads open water. From town the routes stretch out toward Sheldon and Sutherland, driveways and farm entrances cleared across ground with nothing tall enough to block a view of any of it. The first train of the day passes through streets already bare, elevators lit against a clean, cold morning.
