Schoons Tree Service

About Schoons Tree Service

Pocahontas goes dark early in December, streetlights flickering on over a courthouse square lined with old elms that throw long shadows across snow already three inches deep by mid-afternoon. Schoons Tree Service works those in-town blocks first — walkways, then driveways — before the short runs out toward Fonda and Varina where the town thins into open farmland. Ice is the real danger on the shaded side of the square, so salt goes down heaviest there, under the elms, long after the sidewalks look clear. The crew finishes as the courthouse lights click off for the night, leaving Pocahontas dark, quiet, and passable end to end. Morning traffic never sees the work, only the dry pavement waiting for it.
