Hawkeye/VanGinkel Lawn & Snow

About Hawkeye/VanGinkel Lawn & Snow

Winter mornings in Pleasant Hill begin in the dark, with plow lights swinging across a driveway before anyone in the house is awake. Hawkeye/VanGinkel Lawn & Snow runs that hour, clearing drives and walks so the first trip of the day is a straight shot out to the street. When the ground thaws the same routes come back green — mowing through the long Iowa summer, trimming tight to mailbox posts, edging the walks that the plow crowded all winter. There is a symmetry to it: the same properties, the same lines, one season in snow and one in grass. Both are measured the same way, by whether the place looks clear when you pull away.
