Pleasant Hill has grown fast enough in recent years that new rooftops and cul-de-sacs now sit where open ground once ran straight out toward the Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt, and CMC Solutions, LLC works both the older streets and the freshly poured driveways of those newer additions. Copper Creek Lake Park anchors the town's quieter side, its walking paths and pond going still and white under a real Iowa cold snap, while just a few minutes west the lights of Des Moines still glow against the night sky. This is suburban work with a genuinely rural edge close by, a driveway cleared here might back up to a manicured cul-de-sac on one side and open greenbelt timber on the other. Snow moves fast between the metro and the more open ground east of it, catching newer subdivisions off guard if the plow doesn't come through early. By the time commuters start pulling out for the drive into Des Moines, the driveways and walks along Pleasant Hill's growing streets are already clear.
