About McKeeman

Oelwein grew up around the railroad, and the freight still rolls through at odd hours, past yards that need cutting all the same. McKeeman works those blocks in the Hub City where the lots run long and the grass comes up fast out of black Fayette County dirt. Mowing here is a matter of lines — straight ones, held true past clothesline poles and old garage slabs. Trimming tightens everything along fences and foundations until a yard looks finished rather than merely shortened. Cleanups come at both ends of the year, when the maples let go and again when the ground opens. Plain work, done with care, on the streets of a town that has always kept things moving.
