J .C.'s Tree Service

About J .C.'s Tree Service

The lights of Des Moines show up on the horizon after supper northeast of Norwalk, while out the other way the fields still begin at the end of the street. J.C.'s Tree Service works both sides of that line — pruning young trees in the new additions, thinning big oaks and walnuts on the older acreages, taking limbs off a roof before winter loads them with ice. Along the Great Western Trail the volunteer growth crowds the fence rows, and clearing it back opens a yard right up. Straight-line wind out of the west is the local hazard; after one comes through it is broken tops down, drives cleared, and sometimes a whole tree taken out to the last chip. By evening the lawn is clean, daylight comes through the canopy, and the place feels a size larger than it did that morning.
