About American Mowing Co.

At eight on a Saturday the dew still lies heavy on the older blocks of North Liberty, and that is the hour American Mowing Co. likes best — grass cool, air quiet, the whole day still out in front of it. The work is plain and it is done all the way through: a straight pass across the front, a tighter turn around the maple, the trimmer run along the foundation, the walk blown back to bare concrete. Fertilization and weed control keep the turf thick enough to crowd out whatever nobody planted. Come fall, aeration opens the ground so the rain gets down where it can do some good. A yard finished this way looks settled, like somebody lives there and means to stay.
