Green Lawn

About Green Lawn

US 6 runs through Newton as First Avenue, an old highway with front lawns standing shoulder to shoulder the length of it. Green Lawn works that corridor and the streets branching off it, taking thin, tired turf and giving it a season to become something else. Fertilizer goes on a schedule the grass understands, weed control arrives before the dandelions light up April, and fall aeration opens the ground so seed has somewhere to land. Mowing and trimming hold the shape of the thing week to week while the deeper change works its way up. By the second year the difference shows from the road, which is where a Newton yard is really seen.
