About C & E Lane Inc

Hampton's courthouse square is the first thing most people picture when they think of Franklin County, and C & E Lane Inc is often out working the streets around it before the building's lights have even switched on for the day. North-central Iowa storms tend to arrive with plenty of open sky to announce them, visible over the open fields ringing town for an hour or more before the first flakes reach the square. The crew works the downtown blocks in careful order, sidewalks first where the courthouse crowd will need them, then out into the residential streets ringing the square. There's a specific satisfaction in a clean line of pavement running past a building this old, brick and stone built to take exactly this kind of winter. By the time Hampton's offices open for business, the square this crew cleared is simply part of the morning nobody has to notice.
