About Advanced Situation Mitigation

When a winter storm comes sweeping across the Pottawattamie County hills, it reaches Neola on the wind, stacking snow against anything that stands still. Advanced Situation Mitigation treats a snowfall the way its name suggests: as a situation to get ahead of. The work happens in the small hours, while the town sleeps under the orange glow of its streetlights and the flakes are still slanting down. Driveways get opened, walks get cleared, and by first light the way out to the road is plain to see. There is real satisfaction in that sight, a front door that opens onto a path instead of a drift, and it is the whole point of the job.
