Fall's Lawn & Snow LLC

About Fall's Lawn & Snow LLC

The grain elevator north of Mitchellville usually catches the first light of a winter morning, long before the sun reaches the ranch houses and quiet grid streets around it. Fall's Lawn & Snow LLC starts its routes about the same time, working driveways and sidewalks through town while the fields on the edge of Chichaqua Bottoms still hold last night's snow undisturbed. Storms here tend to move in fast off the open farmland to the west, and a town this size can go from bare pavement to six inches while most people are still asleep. The crew clears walk by walk and drive by drive, keeping pace with a place small enough that a missed street gets noticed by lunchtime. What's left after is a plain kind of order — driveways open, sidewalks passable, the elevator still catching whatever light the winter morning has to offer.
