About Outdoor Heaven LLC

There's a particular hush that comes over Milford on a clear night after a heavy snow, when the ice on West Lake Okoboji holds the moonlight and every sound on the empty streets carries twice as far. Outdoor Heaven LLC works some of its routes in exactly that hour, plow lights the only motion on roads that won't see another car until sunrise. Snow off the lake basin can be deceptively soft on top and packed hard underneath, so a driveway cleared too fast just leaves a sheet of ice waiting for morning traffic. Working slower, in that quiet, the crew takes each drive to bare pavement and gets ahead of the freeze instead of chasing it the next day. By the time Milford wakes, the storm is already history — walkways open, driveways clear, the lake still holding its own kind of light under the ice.
