About Brown's Lawn & Landscape, Inc.

Late afternoon in Milford, the light off West Lake Okoboji goes thin and gold for about twenty minutes before the cold takes it back, and that's often when Brown's Lawn & Landscape, Inc. is still finishing a route the morning's storm started. Summer cottages along the shore stand shuttered through the season, but the driveways still need clearing for the owners who check on them, and the sidewalks downtown still need to be walkable for whoever's open past dark. The crew moves street by street through town, then out along the roads past frozen sloughs toward the county line, sizing each pass to whatever the storm actually left rather than what the forecast promised. A cleared drive at dusk, edges square, salt already spread before the temperature drops again overnight — that's the shape the job takes here, storm after storm.
