Total Lawn Care

About Total Lawn Care

Early is the best hour in north Iowa. Fog sits on the Winnebago River, the lagoon at East Park holds a flat gray mirror, and the first mower of the day leaves a dark green track through silver dew. Total Lawn Care starts there and works out through Mason City's neighborhoods and lots, cutting to an even height, trimming close where the machine cannot reach, and edging the concrete until the line is sharp enough to sight down. By October the work changes hands with the wind: leaves come off the oaks and boulevard elms in sheets, and they get gathered, hauled and cleared until the turf is open to the sky again, ready for a hard prairie winter. Come April the rakes go back through the beds and the season starts over. It is steady outdoor work, done a yard at a time, for houses and businesses across this stretch of Cerro Gordo County.
