About Blanchard Tree Services

The Winnebago River curls through the middle of Mason City, and in the coldest weeks of winter it throws off just enough moisture to coat the trees along its banks in a fine layer of ice, branches bowing low over the water and over the driveways beneath them. Blanchard Tree Services knows those riverside blocks first — where a limb might come down under the weight of ice and snow together, and where a driveway needs clearing around debris that fell the night before. The crew works outward from there into the neighborhoods off Federal Avenue, clearing driveways and walkways the same careful way they'd clear a job site, watching for what winter drops from above as much as what falls from the sky. There's a particular satisfaction in a driveway cleared of both snow and a fallen branch in the same pass, the property looking whole again by the time the sun's up. Mason City's river keeps its own weather close, and this crew has learned to read it.
