C&D's Turf Work Etc

About C&D's Turf Work Etc

Evening on the north side of Marshalltown, the ball diamonds emptying out, the grass still holding the day's heat while the light goes flat and orange over the outfield. C&D's Turf Work Etc treats turf as its own subject — mowed at the height that suits it, trimmed clean at every post and pole, fed and aerated so the roots go down instead of sideways. Central Iowa can bake a thin lawn to straw by mid-August; a stand of grass that has been looked after simply refuses to. Yards get the same attention, front and back, week in and week out. There is a particular satisfaction in a lawn that stays green while the block around it browns.
