About Cooper Lawn Care & Snow Removal

Four in the morning in January, wind coming off the open ground east of town, and the drift across the driveway is knee-high and going nowhere on its own. Cooper Lawn Care & Snow Removal is out in it, opening drives and walks so Marshalltown can get to work on time and nobody has to guess about the sidewalk. There is nothing like a black driveway at sunrise with the walks squared off and not a shovelful left to do. By April the same trucks are hauling mowers, and the year turns over into cutting, trimming and edging every week until the leaves come down. Two halves of one calendar, both of them about a house you can get into and a yard you are glad to come home to.
